BlueGuard Adds Bluetooth-Power To Your Garage Doors

This is the kind of thing I find cool now.   I found this on a site called coolthings.com.  One of my future projects is to totally automate my home.  This would be an idea way to start.  I think I should be able to turn on lights, sprinklers, and change channels by using my blackberry. 

Does anyone have that blackberry application for home automation?

This would be a great gift for the wife.  I can not remember how many times I have to remember to hide all of our adult toys every time we are expecting company.  With a product like this, they can almost hide in plain site.  The advertisement claims it keeps you from having to get up and go to the closet every time you want to have fun. The truth is that you might forget to lock up all of your stuff when you family comes to stay for a few days.

ToiTissue is a wooden tissue holder. One end side of the box slides open to reveal a drawer ideal for condoms, cash, jewelry and slim toys . Place some tissues in the top and as long as its not out of tissues, no one would even think to look in a tissue box!  This product does not have a lock.

Just like any other mid-thirties married male with a new house and tiny bit of disposable income, I am a gadget guy.  I am the guy that is often looking for a product that fits the need that that I did not know I had.  I have to remind my self to categorize stuff I am about to purchase as a need or a want.  I’ve saved a lot of money with that philosophy, but just think about all the time I’ve spend in my life without a shower light. 

Anyway, I found a new cool gadget site.  I stumbled across Think Geek and the showerlight gadget below caught my eye. What a great idea? 

The Shower Light

The LED Shower Light is a brilliant idea. It installs to a standard shower pipe in mere minutes. When you turn the shower on, the water powers a turbine and the LED Shower Light…well, lights up! Blue let’s you know the water is chilly. When the water warms up to 89° F (32° C), the light changes to red. Now you can step in and not freeze your giblets off. And you don’t even need to turn on the light now, because your whole shower glows. It makes for a much nicer morning, trust us. The Garden Zombie ships in three pieces, measuring 31½” x 19½ Dx 8″ and weighing 13 pounds is available for purchase for around $90. It’s a little pricey for something you place outside in your garden, but it might just be worth the piece and quiet, not to mention the looks you get from neighbors.
