Wow, I just finished day 3 of P90X. That means that I only have 87 days left! I had a hard time getting motivated because I was still so damn sore from day one. I am surprised that I got that sore from day one because I am used to do pushups and using those muscles. I just remember looking at the television after the workout and trying not to puke and wondering if my nose was bleeding. What a great feeling. I did have a moment of weakness when I looked at Tony Horton on my television and asked him if he was out of his fucking mind.
These guys know what they are doing because they scheduled an aerobic exercise on day two. Then, day three was arms and shoulders, my favorite. I knocked it out of the box! I love curls and shoulder presses and it had a few of each. You have to love the feeling after you just finish workout out and your arms are still swollen. It is going to suck when I have to buy all new shirts!
261 viewsIt was the hardest thing I have done in a long time. I had alot of trouble with the pullups and I believe I “boinked” at the end with the diamond pushups. I finished it, but I struggled. I do believe that If I had just been given the excercises to do in a list format and not had the dvd, I wouldn’t have finished them.
I was very discouraged with my abilities. However, I did get a hell of a workout. That is really all you need.
258 viewsOn Monday, the wife and I are starting P90X. I received it in the mail and have decided to start it on Monday. I’m trying to figure out the pull-up bar and where to get it installed. I also need to go get some dumbbells to use during P90X.
I really look forward to the results. My diet has been really disciplined lately and I have already seen tremendous progress in the shape of my upper body, but I think I have plateaued. The wife has been running almost every morning and is also seeing some great results. The P90X program should put both of us over the top and really show us some great results.
One big question is how do we track the progress and where she would post the before and after pictures. I am going to make some goals based specifically around my body fat percentage and keep track every week right here on this blog. I should probably set some goals for the wife and set up some rewards for her if she reaches them.
479 viewsI am starting the P90X workout in 4 days. I’ve ordered the workout DVDs and pull up bar and warned the wife that I am getting started. Actually, the wife has agreed to do it with me and I think she is excited. I think she will actually see some very good results soon after she begins. She is a runner, but she has never really done any working out with weights. I’m excited for her and the results she may see.
It is scheduled to be delivered Christmas eve and I’m tracking it on the UPS website. I couldn’t be more excited, but dissapointed in the shipping. It is Christmas time, but it has been idle in two different cities for at least two days. So much for the free express shipping promissed when you order.
My goals will be simple, I want to drop 5%-10% body fat and keep my same body weight. I currently weigh about 198 lbs and have about 20% body fat. I would like to see the abs look good and the shoulders and biceps get more defined.
I still need to buy a better set of dumbells for both me and the wife. I think I could probably find a good deal on the day after Christmas Sales.
265 viewsDoes P90X Work? Common Reasons Why Some People Aren’t Getting the Results They
If you’re looking for a great new fitness program and you’re wondering, “Does P90X work, really?”, wonder no more. The answer is an absolute yes; however, as with any fitness plan, you have to commit to the program, set realistic goals and follow the nutrition plan that’s provided with the P90X workout plan. The following FAQ’s will give you more insight to the question; does P90X work?
Does P90X work to burn fat quickly?
Yes, P90X does work to burn fat quickly – If you stick to the P90X nutrition plan, as well as the exercise plan, you’ll see a noticeable reduction in your body fat percentage well before the 90 day program is over. Those people who throw themselves into the exercise program and ignore the diet will not see such impressive results.
How does P90X work to burn fat?
The P90X program is designed around muscle confusion. It provides workouts that target all areas of fitness. The variety provided in this program keeps you from hitting the weight loss plateau, which generally occurs after the first month of training, when your body becomes accustomed to your workout plan and results become less noticeable. P90X also increases lean muscle mass and it’s been proven that each pound of muscle in a person’s body burns more than 10 calories a day while at rest. Throw in a proper nutrition plan, and you’ll become a fat burning machine! However, if you decide to only perform the workouts you enjoy the most, or you choose not to follow the nutrition plan, you won’t get the results you were hoping for when you purchased the P90X program.
Does P90X work for all ability levels?
P90X can work to help people of all ability levels achieve higher standards of fitness. Of course, if you’re new to fitness, you will need to modify some of the exercise programs to make them suitable to your abilities. If you’re already in great shape, you’ll likely train with increased intensity to get maximum results from the workouts provided. Regardless of your level of fitness, you’ll get better results from any program if you set realistic, achievable goals. One of the biggest pitfalls in following a program like this is having unattainable expectations, which may lead to burnout and ultimately, failure to complete the program.
Does P90X work to improve athletic abilities?
Actually, P90X is tremendously helpful to athletes who are seeking an edge. P90X’s unique program of weights, cardio, stretching and plyometric training provides athletes with all of the elements necessary to excel in sports. Strength, flexibility, agility and endurance are all highly valued athletic skills that are developed using P90X. Again, to ensure that athletes get the best results possible from the P90X program, they need to fully commit to the program for at least 90 days. Those who don’t commit; those who pick and choose which parts of the program they want to a follow typically don’t get the results they want to see. Please see the following article for more details on How Power 90X (P90X) Can Make You a Better Athlete
So, to answer the general question, “does P90X work for everyone?” The answer is no, it doesn’t. P90X only works for those people who are dedicated to the entire program, who set achievable goals for themselves and who follow a healthy nutrition plan while following the P90X workout program. The better question to ask here is, “can P90X work for everyone?” Absolutely – as long as you are medically able to perform moderate exercise, P90X can be the path to achieving all of your fitness goals.
619 viewsI am seriously thinking about doing the P90X workout
Traditionally I am not one to try gimmick products or routines, but I do like gadgets. I’ve been watching those P90X commercials and I am fairly impressed with the way they are put together. I’ve also been fairly impressed with the feedback I am reading on the web about the program. I do not believe they are advertising as a something for nothing routine which usually spells gimmick on all the other programs I have seen on TV. The Tony Horton guys seems very likable. If I get half of the results of some of the people I am seeing on blogs, I would consider the money well spent.
Remember, I’m the guy that bought the perfect pushups at WalMart on a whim and promptly built a lot a muscle and lost about 30lbs. When I bought the perfect pushups, I could only do about 10 reps of a good form pushup. I have done sets during workouts recently with 25 reps. I only point that out to show the potential level of commitment that I might have with a new workout program.
My other option is something that I have really been wanting to do. I have been looking at buying a treadmill. My wife is really great runner, but she likes to run on the road. I would like to start running, but I just dont have the time to get out on the road and run. In my past life when I had access to a treadmill, I ultimately had some really good results. I’ve read that you really should not run while you are doing the P90X workout because it is overkill. The problem is that running will only take you so far when developing the perfect body that is my goal.
I would have to buy a new set of dumbells and somehow figure out how to install a pullup bar somewhere in my home without my wife going nuts. That would be the biggest challenge. Maybe the P90X guys will send me the program free in exchange for posting the results on this blog that is read by thousands of people who fall directly in their target demographic.
I think I am going to have to make the decision in the next week or so. I want to spend the first few months of the next year getting to where I want to be.
What do you think? Should I get the P90X?

How you prepare for your first 5K run will in a large part depend on your prior running experience. You may possibly have been running for fitness in your background–maybe even for years–but as of yet, you have never entered an organized event.
For the sake of this article, let’s assume you have done a little running. Perhaps you’ve been doing easy runs of maybe 15-20 minutes 2 or 3 times a week. However, you have decided that you want to challenge yourself further and saw the notice for the 5K run and decided you would enter. Let’s assume this is your first 5K run, and the first time you have ever entered an actual organized race. Here are some tips on helping you to do the best you possibly can:
522 viewsIt is time to get back and start hammering out the push ups. My body got tired and I took some time off. I think I was at a plateau of strength building on the push ups. I wasn’t getting and stronger and they seemed to be getting harder to do.
I was seeing some tremendous definition in my arms and chest before I slacked off for a while. It is still there, but I think I have the potential to make more gains. I have still been dieting and working on the abs and that is really helping.
367 viewsThe Top 10 Muscles Women Love
According to a Men’s Health Article
1. 6-Pack Abs
You could have biceps the size of bowling balls, but if you’ve got the beginnings of a gut, any discriminating woman will think twice before considering you boyfriend material. Their fear: A little excess midriff meat now means one fat, sloppy bastard in 10 years.
2. Powerful Forearms
Women see strong forearms and think you can do everything: Fend off a mugger, build a house, and maintain a dexterous touch long enough to leave them extremely satisfied. So roll up those sleeves, and let ‘em have a look.
3. A Nice Butt
Women check out your butt because it’s a clue to your worthiness as a physical specimen. If you’re in great shape, it carries high. Otherwise, your rear end droops like a sack of old potatoes. Old, hairy potatoes.
4. A Broad Back
A wide back is essential for a V-shaped torso, and women’s attraction to it is ancestral. “When it was important that our mates protect us from woolly mammoths on the plains, we looked for a gene pool that could provide us with protection,” says Pega Ren, Ed.D., a sexologist in British Columbia.
5. Sculpted Shoulders
“The shoulder muscles are really the muscles of love and war,” says Nancy Etcoff, Ph.D., author of Survival of the Prettiest. They also make the whole look when combined with a broad back. Strong shoulders literally sweep women off their feet.
6. Rock-Hard Calves
“Women want an overall sense of strength and fitness,” says Etcoff. “If a man looks as if he can lift something but can’t run, it looks disproportionate.”
7. The Money Line
We’re not convinced that’s its official name, but here’s how our female friends describe it: “The muscle that runs diagonally from hip to crotch,” “The muscle that sticks out near the hips—yummy!” and “Lower abs, near his package.”
8. A Big Chest
“Women treasure your chest as much as you do theirs,” says Emily Dubberley, a sex expert based in the UK. “Touching, kissing, and licking a man’s chest is undoubtedly a turn-on for most women.”
9. Large Biceps
In a poll of Cosmopolitan readers, 1 out of 5 women confessed that nice biceps on a man makes them “absolutely melt.”
10. Strong Hamstrings
Many women prefer being on top because it lets them lean forward to rub against your pubic bone. Having well-conditioned hamstrings and glutes makes it easier to meet her halfway for more pleasure.
