The Fun Husband

Last night was one of the biggest drinking nights of the year. Even people who normally dont drink will have some champagne and get a little tipsy.  In my past life, I used to go to these types of parties where everyone was drinking.  It also used to be a great opportunity to pick up chicks for two reasons.  The first reason is mentioned above, they all get really drunk.  The second reason is that they spend the entire night looking for someone to kiss at midnight.  That is a short hop to making out and another little hop to getting nasty.

I’m married now, so I get any of that fun. Hell, my wife actually went to bed at 8:45 on New Years Eve.  Although we had decided not to go anywhere for the night, I was feeling a little festive on the drive home and I almost stopped and bought a bottle of champagne.  In retrospect, I’m glad I didn’t. How sad of a sight would it have been to see me drinking champagne by myself at 9 pm on New Years Eve? It would have only been a little bit better than seeing me count down the new year by myself holding my watch in one hand and my bottle of champagne in the other.
